Sea Snakes in the Caribbean

While on a recent trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, I spotted a sea snake while snorkeling. Tan in color with black or dark brown spots, almost a checkerboard pattern. He was slithering along the bottom and I was able to get a picture of it, but have not been able to identify it. If there are no sea snakes in the caribbean, then I don't know what else this could have been.
