Draft #1: The unique, underground waterworlds of Bahamian blue holes

For the Tropical Marine Ecology class, I plan to present the blue holes of the Bahamas. Blue holes are fantastic underwater caves with stalagmites and stalactites, indicating that they once stood above sea level. These caves were first explored in the 1960's and later in the 1980's, which revealed an ecosystem marked with unique marine life and a variety of coral. The natural wonders of these mysterious, underground waterworlds have often been explained in Bahamian folklore.

I plan to present the following aspects of blue holes:
*folklore of Bahamian blue holes
*how and when the blue holes were formed
*where blue holes are located in the Bahamas
*the geology of blue holes
*brief history of their exploration
*the unique flora and fauna of blue holes
