Tropical Forests: Similarities and Differences - "Claiming" of topic

Hi Folks,

I am still looking at resources that compare and contrast the different types of tropical forests. In Costa Rica this year we will be in wet, dry (seasonal) and cloud tropical forests. Being a person who is interested in the "big picture", I would like us to think about some general characteristics of each of these types of tropical forest, how they are similar, how they differ, how they differ from the forests most of us are familiar with (i.e. temperate deciduous or coniferous), and where and when we will be in them while we're in Costa Rica this summer.
