Like I said before as a child the hero like John Wayne...etc. or the athletes put on pedastals like football players etc. are tall the villains like Penguin or Dennis Hopper in Speed are short (at least their smart). And like I said the prettiest girls wearing skimpy clothes are trained to cheer for the athletes who more times than not are tall, this goes on from Jr. high on up. Now lets take a look at the fairy tales that little girls are raised on. Cinderella is swept off her feet by a tall prince. The knight that kills the dragon and rescues the girl is always tall riding on a white horse, snow white and her tall prince. The only short male in these stories is an ugly short troll with a napoleon complex who is pissed and says if you want to cross this bridge or walk through this part of the forest you better pay up. Now the evil step mother or the witch are old women past their prime and no one wants these old hags. Now yeah I know these stories are BS but american culture gives short men the finger from day one from the sports to the movies to the schools, jobs, dating, fairy tales.... etc. Now there may be some gentetic component in women favoring tall men but I think that is a cop out for north american caucasion women. They are far harder on short men the rest of the women around the world. I know a guy about 5 '1" an american and he is married to a taller german woman, my ex boss who is vietnamese and is most likely under 5 '0 is married to a tall veitnamese women and I have been told that english and french women are far less "hostile" to shorter men than american caucasion ladies. So yes there is a genetic component going on here but the sad fact is that american caucasion women are Biggots when it comes to height and are far more shallow and judgemental than their female counterparts around the world. How many times do you hear american women complaining about it being a mans world and discrimination against them when the fact is they are the supreme discriminators in the USA. Now the american male on the other hand is the most noble creature that walks this earth but that is another story.
