On Sept. 20 we continued the open inquiry lab by returning to the creek 30 minutes after it rained to take more water samples. Even though it had only rained for 15 minutes, we noticed that in places where the creek had only been 2 inches deep on the 14th, it was now one to two feet deep. On both days, we strained the water samples using coffee filters to measure the sediment content. On the 14th, there was no sediment collected. On the 20th, there was a lot more sediment in the water.
