A Quiet Atlantic Ocean

This article submitted by Hays Cummins on 9/1/97.

Welcome to this discussion group. The last day of August is similar to the first in that the Atl Ocean is dominated by Upper Level Lows: one in the Central Atl, the second in the eastern Caribbean, and the third in the Gulf of Mexico. A promising disturbance in the NW Caribbean is being torn apart by shear. A more promising disturbance has just moved off the African coast. It's pretty far south and may have a chance to develop.

Please feel free to contibute to these discussions. Have fun!
