Hurricane Pauline
This article submitted by Hays Cummins [e-mail:HaysC@muohio.edu] on 10/10/97.
Pauline was one impressive hurricane. Small and compact, she maintained
category three strength for longer than I expected. Her parallel
path along the coast allowed her to maintain strength, and in
fact, her cloud tops were at the coldest temperatures of her life
history when the center was just inland. Rainfall amounts had
to be staggering in this mountainous terrain.
