A few good ideas

Perhaps my most interesting idea is to collect rain water samples and look at the isotopic composition to determine where the rain came from (Pacific or Gulf of Mexico). This along with predictions from watching weather patterns could help me determine how accurate of a proxy isotope composition is. If this idea is not possible I would like to exammine some other proxy and determine how accurate or reliable it is. So far in our studies it seems as though we are relying on proxies of varying abilities. Then we are using these proxies to mach assumptions about climate events. I believe that there should be some sort of scale or other way to determine just how well a proxy actually works. This could be done through the use of a proxy to prove some known data. Any suggestions are welcome.
