Research Question:
Do warmer sea temperatures in the Atlantic basin (of which the Caribbean is included) cause an increase in hurricane intensity and/or formation?
Predictions:
We believe that if there is an warming of the waters in the Atlantic basin, that the warmer water temperatures will cause an increase of hurricane formation, as well as increasing their intensity.
Reasearch Design:
We plan to use data from:
the National Hurricane Center
and Tropical Meteorology Project
as well as NASA Goddard Space Institute.
Concurrent with our research of hurricane formation, it is inevitable that we will also investigate the societal effects that hurricanes have on coastal cities of the Gulf and Eastern Seaboard.
COMING SOON! HOTLINKS!!! As soon as the disgruntled librarians find time between their cigarette breaks and web surfing, our reserves wil get posted and then we will make hotlinks available to all of those who are as interested in hurricanes as we are!
