Sea Level Rise: What's Next?

This topic submitted by Scott Barker and Nicki Richmond ( barkersp@muohio, nickilyn17@hotmail ) on 1/25/02 .

The purpose of this project is to investigate sea levels of the past and those which may be imminent in the future. Based on the geologic past, sea level has gone through a series of fluctuations due to glacial/interglacial periods. We predict that sea level has changed in the past and will continue to rise today, as it is an interglacial period. However, the rate at which it is rising is alarming due to global climate change. We will research evidence that show indications of sea level fluctuations in the past, as well as models of the future.
