In our project, we chose to explore how climate change would effect vector-borne diseases. Specifically, we looked at dengue and malaria. Under malaria, we explored the symptoms, disease life cycle, seasonality, projected increases in disease prevalence, the MIASMA model and Satellite Remote Sensing. The dengue research looked at the properties of the virus, changes in vector distribution, the Southern Oscillation Index and the relationship between climate change indicators and the disease. There is also a small change on climate change in Ohio, which contains a few temperature change models and precipitation models.
