Key Deer in Canada?

Hello,

We just returned from a visit to Vancouver Island on Canada's west coast. There is a species of deer on the island, that resembles very closely the Florida Key Deer.
All the articles I have read about this animal, suggest they are on the endangered list, with only a few hundred remaining in Florida.

The deer on Vancouver island are no larger than a very large
Newfoundland dog, and the photo's I have taken suggest they are in fact Key deer, or a very close relative.

I would love to send you a picture for confirmation please.

Thank you ...

Elizabeth D. in Calgary Canada.
