Dear Mr Schongalla,

I have read the discussion topic u posted at 11:42 pm on 5/8/01 titled Salt
Management in Avicennia germinans and Rhizophora mangle (Draft #1)
In this report, you described what is seen in three figures, however, I
cannot see the pictures you were referring to.Is it possible if you could
send me those diagrams?

I am currently doing a research project on the topic below:-

Biological desalination : harvesting its potential to produce freshwater
from seawater

Description: Certain mangrove plant species are able to desalinate seawater
for their own freshwater usage in the universal process of photosynthesis.
My team is in the process of developing a protocol to reduce salt (mainly
NaCl) levels in seawater by the selective use of certain mangrove plant
species. It is hope that this simple basic biological desalination model
could be tested and scale-up to a workable solution as a potential source of

freshwater for Singapore.

I think that your report you wrote gave me an insight into this topic.I
would appreciate it very much if you could provide me with addresses of
online webpages that would be helpful for my project, since you are very
experienced in this area.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Cora
