Hey Joe -

Just a reminder that April 1 is the due date for the final outline submission. This isn't the five page paper due later, but it should be a more complete synthesis of your expected topics for coverage in both the presentation and the final paper. Your first submission is pretty vague - I hope you have been thinking more about it in the time that has passed since your posting.

Maybe you could take on the "devil's advocate" position and suggest ways that the environment can be protected if drug trade were legalized. Of course, you'll want to be more specific about what environmental damages resulting from the illegal drug trade. You suggest illegal disposal and deforestation - why does this drug trade cause deforestation? Are there any positive impacts to the envt from the illegal drug trade? What drugs are being traded? Is this isolated within certain regions (of the country, of the world?) or is it pretty wide-spread?

Don't forget that the presentation is only 15 minutes long, but the paper is to be five pages when all is said and done. Also, don't forget to post the final outline ASAP. Good luck!
Becky
