Deforestation is a problem that affects everyone in the world. Rainforests, like the ones in Costa Rica, are home to thousands of species of plants and animals, many of these species are not found anywhere else. Rainforests are the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. By tearing down the rainforests for economic and agricultural uses, we are disrupting the environment in Costa Rica and around the world. Such issues as global warming and species extinction may result from deforestation.
