Students take a "coral quiz", San Salvador, Bahamas.

Tropical Field Courses -Western Program-Miami University

Emily,
Because we will be spending a lot of time talking about corals and coral reefs, this is a great topic
Just curious, have any corals evolved defense mechanisms to avoid predation from crown of thorns?
Also, you hinted that crown of thorns play a role in medicine, what is this connection?
Maybe you could mention this in your paper/presentation.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Good work so far!
