Mangroves provide one of the largest ecosystems for fish, plants, and animals to live in. They provide shelter for the these organisms, as well as protection for the coastline from incoming waves and storms. Mangrove forests are scattered all over the worldÕs inter-tidal zones, and need to be understood and appreciated. These delicate forests can be easily harmed by fishing, shrimping, and deforestation. With these forests gone, many organisms and plants will be unprotected and could eventually go extinct. Mangrove forests relate to Marine ecology in many ways. They are part of our great expanse of oceans, as well as being apart of the fragile food and energy chain. Through this research paper I want to first of all understand the biology and ecology of the mangrove tree as well as the mangrove ecosystem. Secondly I want to understand what is threatening our Mangrove forests, and lastly, I want to see what conservation techniques are being used to save our Mangrove forests.
