My name is Joe Gray and I am one of the Teaching Assistants on the TME course.
I was looking over your outline and you have picked an interesting topic. I used to live in Florida and used to take students snorkeling and diving with the manatees in Crystal River. I gave you a couple of additional links that you may find useful while doing your research, particularly the rules for human/manatee contact at the Crystal River web site.
Since your topic is focused on conservation you may find the mortality statistics at the second web site useful. It may be interesting to see if you can find a correlation between the conservation measures and any changes in the mortality statistics.
Matt has also given you a good pointer on making sure to include a couple of journal articles as resources. Also, scientific papers typically use APA formatting for citations. There is a web site known as Son of Citation Machine that is very useful in guiding you through APA citation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
