pitutarygland problem

I was wondering what causes the pituitary gland to get messed up.My counts...are to 40.
I was on a pain medication from chemo. Could it be messed up by my pain medication..I was on oxicontin.
I am now on a hormone to help.
How long until it will get it straighten out...
Can the hormones straighten it out, or will i need surgary?
One doctor told me that it was not the pain meds,but i was still wondering...I want so much to get well.
Please let me know if i can get well from this,
