What is it in human nature that draws people to spirituality, and intense spiritual experiences? We would specifically like to address the phenomenon of religious revivals. It is not unusual for participants in revivals to experience great "spiritual awakenings" that manifest themselves in speaking in tongues and seizures. It is our assertion that the human spirit needs affirmation in the idea that there is a transcendent and guiding power. We intend interview members of some campus organizations, and possibly study videos of revivals.
