Just a quick suggestion cause it looks like you are really struggling to narrow down your topic. Some of the first years did a biophilia project last semester and did a lot of reading up on it etc. Look at their project, they were in one of Chris's classes for NSI. Talk to Ross who lives on 3rd floor of Peabody, and ask him about his project and all. Talking it out with some of the people from the group from last semester might give you some ideas on where to get started. Good luck!
