I like the premise of this study. All folks lie at one time or another. I'm looking forward to seeing your survey instrument. In your proposal, be sure to integrate your sources into the body of your work, not just at the end of your work. Why do you feel that you can't survey folks across campus? There is no problem with that as long as your work is being done for a school project (which it is) and the results won't be published in a professional journal (which they won't). So,.......go for the survey away from Western as well.
This can be a good project (and, I'm not lying!)
