Sex Changes: The Evolution of Female Sexuality in America

Our group would like to investigate the "evolution" of female sexuality in America. We've noticed that society's view of the sexuality of American women have been modified several times during every major historical era from the colonial period to the present. Upon investigating the evolution of American women's sexuality in the past, we would like to know where society stands in the 21st century. We will be surveying Miami University students (from both Western and Main campus) to gain an understanding of how college students view female sexuality. We will come to our conclusions by asking questions dealing with the following issues:
- Madonna-whore dichotomy (sample question: How do you feel about marrying someone who has had several sexual partners?)
- Childhood exposure to sex (sq: Who gave you your "sex talk," a male or female?)
- Sexual expectations for college (sq: Did you expect to partake in more sexual activity when you got to college?)
- Issues of safe sex (sq: How important is safe sex to you?- comparing is it more important to males or females)
