The idea behind the questions

A solid topic an good groups to use to investigate ideas of honor and sacrifice. The methods and questions should be shaped by your main goals. I don't think anyone would be very surprised if you found evidence for at least your first two predictions. Ultimately, do you feel that changing notions of honor and sacrifice are detrimental to society? Are you more interested in the motives behind sacrifice, or in the social reinforcement that supports or undermines sacrifice. Once you place the theoretical context, you'll probably have pretty well-defined questions that are still unanswered on this important issue.
