I am interesting to see if you hypothesis turns out to be correct because, as you said, it would mean that "by changing certain cultural beliefs and practices relating to the environment we can produce a nation of citizens who are more concerned and actively involved in preserving our natural resources." At this point in world, it is necessary for people, especially those of the United States, to preserve our resources because there will come a time when we have no resources left. Although this, more than likely, will not come in our lifetimes, it will come at the rate we are going. Just imaging a country full of people who are more concerned and actively involved excites me, but it seems idealistic. However, any step that we can take forward is essential. Your study involves more than reactions to a snake; it invloves wordviews.
