Ritualistic Initiations

Each culture in the world includes specific and unique rituals that they employ in order to determine the transition from adolescence to adulthood. This includes our culture. What we then propose to research and investigate is how these methods are carried out and how they are similar and different in their methodologies. We also wish to examine the signigigance of such rituals. In order to conduct this survey we would research extensively in the library thus maximizing the resources available, including videos and microfiche. Before we start we agree that these rituals will have varying importance from culture to culture and as a result be very different in the way they are carried out. After we extract all the pertinent information we will then construct a chart that illustrates in detail the intitiation rituals. In addition, we will demonstarte the differences and similarities that emerge after our research. We agree that four or five cultures would be an adequate number of cultures to explore. If this is in error we will adjust accordingly.
