Just dogs?

I wonder why you have narrowed the choice of animals down to only dogs? Couldn't you draw comparisons with organizations such as PETA and Habitat for Humanities similar to those that yo u already intend to, but widen the range of species beyond what you have immediately available in the Oxford area? This could then widen the question to something like "Why do humans have a tendancy to try to ignore human suffering, while they may go to great extents to care for an animal?"

A good question to address would be "Why do people pay hundreds of dollars to care for their pets (dog food = $$) when they could be putting their money into organizations to better serve humanity (Habitat for Humanitites, etc)?"
