What is a better decision?

I know that in some cases the better decision is a matter of shades of grey taking that into account how are you going to determine what is the better decision because on the issues that are black and white I don't think that you will have much descrepency between the group mentality and the individuals. I am very interested in the effect of "mob mentality" and think that this is an excellent topic but I think that in order to fully explore this it will require a lot of thought on how to actually answer this question.
