In our study, we will be testing whether the boys' or the girls' bathroom harbors more bacteria. We will test this by swabbing places, such as the toilet seats, the sink handles, the inside door handles, the locks on the stalls, and the shower floors. These tests will be performed in the boys' and girls' bathrooms in Peabody Hall, on the second and third floors, South corridors. Once a week, we will swab and test these areas to identify the type of bacteria found in this area.
Our prediction will be that the women's bathroom will contain more bacteria than the men's bathroom. We are basing this prediction on the articles that we read by Amanda Riddle, Adrian Monk, and Andrew Lindemann Malone , who give evidence that there is more bacteria in womens' bathrooms, as opposed to mens' bathrooms.
