Does the specie of the tree have any effect on how rapidly and to what shade the leaves of a tree turn?

obj: Our project is to chart the color change among four seperate types of trees throught the fall season. We are trying to find the day were each tree peakes at a specific color. For instance, we would take an oak tree and see when its leaves stop changing colors in comparison to a maple.

Prediction: We think that there will be a drastic difference among the colors of leaves. After we know what trees in the local werstern campus area we will be able to make futher predictions.
