Why did you choose the hypothesis of the old tree dropping its leaves faster? Are you dealing with the age of the individual trees or the relative ages of the species in this study?
Overall, this sounds like an interesting study. Will it lead to further investigation on the subject? Why are you only testing two species of trees?
