Work in Gloomy, Depressing Library

I work in a music library.. I fetch, orginize, and put away the music our director wants.. The library is like a hole in the wall.. I can go in and be in an awesome mood, but when I come out I am grouchy and irritable. Maybe it is because there is only me, some dreary filing cabnits, a old paper smell, and bad interior decorating. I think it has to do with color because the filing cabnits are olive green, grey, and black. The carpet is brown, the bookshelves are white, as are the walls. I want to do something (ex: tape pretty pictures on the walls) that makes the drearyness vanish.. Does anyone have any ideas?
