RESTUARANT REVIEW
There was no comparison to the Liberty Cafe. The Midtown Bar and Grill receives two thumbs down from us for atmosphere. After being interrogated by our waitress, she was finally convinced that we were all 18. Although the food was bad, we were lucky enough to escape from socializing with the old cowboy "fossils" at the bar. Instead, we had the entire back room to ourselves. We had to make a special request for condiments and salt and pepper, but the great lighting by the two bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and the Freddy Kruger pinball machine made up for this. Pictures will be included in our final report.
GETTING LOST
We were in the middle of Indiana with no map and had no idea where to go. Need we say more. Well, we will. We tried to call information using Jason's cell phone, but were told that there was no Hays Cummins in Oxford. We stopped at numerous gas stations and to our surprise no one knew what we were talking about. Unfortunately, we did not meet any more old men with no teeth, and everyone knows that old men with no teeth have the best directions and recommendations for good, cheap food. Finally, we stormed into the Park Rangers Office and forced the information out of him as to where Hays's mysterious fossil site was located.
BACK TO BUSINESS
Finally, there was great rejoicing in Jason's car. We had arrived at the fabled land of fossils. Amid the shouts of joy, we jumped out of the car and ran to the roadcuts to collect brachiopods. Kristin socialized with the other collectors and the rest of us began collecting many samples of brachiopods and some crinoids and horn coral and bryozoa. Then, after having been away from Oxford for at least 6 whole hours, we returned to our happy home in Peabody Hall.
