We have started to research the behavior and reactions of the swans when confronted by humans. We have found out that there is one swan without black on his face thatis much more aggresive than the rest. He/She, we don't know which, makes hissing sounds and sticks its head high in the air to try to intimidate us. The other swans mainly ignore us and keep on eating. When we approach the edge of the pond they swim over to see if we have any food. We have talked to one of the persons who feeds them and she said that they will eat out of your hand after they get to know you. We are going to study the turkey-type birds also to see how they react to humans also. So far they seem much more laid back than the swans and will just walk in the water when we get to within about 6 feet. That is about all we have concluded so far but plan on studying the swans daily for the next few weeks.
