Curriculum Project on Contraception
By Rob Didham, Vann Geondeff, Aaron Kaffen, and Katryn Roush
We created a web page that explored the issues of contraception. Within the site, we have a brief discussion of the curriculum and also a description of the history of contraceptives. The site than links the reader to the project part of the curriculum. The project starts with the teacher presenting an example project, Latex Contraception, that has both an informative part and an anthropological study section. The anthropological study was of social issues concerning latex contraceptives and conducted through survey method. The data collected was than used to create a scientific paper answering the hypothesis and questions of our study. A similar project is to be conducted by students concerning IUDs, barrrier methods, chemical methods, and male contraception. We have provided the students with a general overview of information to guide them towards their research. Finally, there is a page of extensive sources and web links.
