I am not sure exactly where your sampling stations are, but using the maps that I gave you have the potential to go all the way up to the Prebel/Butler County Line (by car) and get measurements several miles apart. This may or not be useful, but you should at least take a road trip and stop everyplace a road crosses the run to check it out. From a social systems perspective it might be interesting to talk to Larry Frimmerman at 3 Valley Conservation Trust about what it would take to get easements for the whole run to create a wider riparian corridor. Also what does he think would convince farmers to plant corn farther from the run?

When we return from spring break our field trip to Indian Creek, and our visit with Jim MacCartney should be quite helpful in helping you solidify the scientific aspects of your proposal. We will make class time for you to work with Jim, and I urge you to make the most of this excellent opportunity. -Chris
