A few thoughts

Hi Lauren:

This sounds quite interesting. You might want to do some research on the history of plant life along the creek. What, for example, were the native species of trees? When was the "first growth" forest removed? What have been the effects of land use changes on water quality, especially on sediment transport? In this regard, can might compare the 4-Mile watershed with other systems discussed in the course?

You might want to film the creek during periods of high and low flow. How does the water color change? Are there places where the creek runs clear? Might your film include an examination of different habitats---pools, riffles, marshes, impoundments, flood plains and riparian zones? Just a few thoughts that we can discuss.
