This is a wonderful idea Laura! The fertilizers and pesticides that farmers use do radically effect a stream such as four mile: more so, I would think than the industrial affects. That may be because there are few industries upstream. More research is needed on that though. As far as farmer contacts, I know that Kelly Markle did tests of different farms for an NS project. She would have those numbers. I also have a number for an organic farmer in the area. I don't know if his farm is next to the creek, but data on his soil as compared to traditional farmer's soil would add greatly to your study. Good luck!
