Biodiversity

I like the idea of looking at biodiversity. Why select "non-fish species who inhabit the areas immediately surrounding the creek" rather than species (including fish) that actually inhabit the creek? It might surprise (or even shock) people to know that there are some absolutely beautiful, colorful fish in that creek right here in Oxford, Ohio. For example, look at the picturers of the Rainbow Darter in section 5.1 of your book "A guide to Ohio Streams." There are techniques for sampling fish and ofher aquatic specis. I have included a link to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Areas Web site on Fishes of Ohio State Scenic Rivers. They have some nice pics of some interesting and underappreciated fish. Of course, there are worth while proojects involving the riparian zone too. -Chris
