I was poking around the internet and found a site that contained a picture of a covered bridge that was built over four mile creek in Preble, County. It said that after a storm in 1886, a man was commissioned to build covered bridges in that area. I also found a history of pioneer trails in Ohio that said four mile creek was part of an old trail that went from Hamilton to Oxford. What was this covered bridge mainly used for? Locals or something bigger?
My idea was to study this covered bridge, the history behind it, how Four-Mile Creek functioned as a transporation route, what the environmental effects of building covered bridges over creeks are, and how asthetically covered bridges function in our social conciousness.
