Draft 1 - Diseases communicable?

This topic submitted by Alison Stanton ( stantoam@muohio.edu ) on 1/24/03. [ Rivers Team: Alison Stanton-Section: Cummins/Kaufman]

Question: What diseases could be passed/communicated by/through 4MC? (plant life, animal life including humans)

We could study how diseases are transmitted scientifically and why it is that each disease gets transmitted the way it does (in terms of cell structure, environments it likes). The social impact of what diseases are communicated include the death rate which effects number of able bodied workers (economically read producers). What about the impact on social rituals, for instance bathing.

Methods could include going to the health center and talking about communicable diseases and of course peer-reviewed journals. What's in 4MC that might promote or hinder disease communication and how does it flow?
