Draft 1 - Don't Drink the Water

This topic submitted by Lucas King ( kinglc@muohio.edu ) on 1/23/03. [ Rivers Team: Lucas King-Section: Blaisdell/Wolfe]

What exactly is in the water of Four Mile Creek? What are the chemical aspects of the water (pH, hardness, minerals)? What are the different pollutants in the water and where does it all come from? I would also like to know when the pollution started showing up in the water. How does the pollution affect the wildlife in the area? What would happen if someone drank the water from the creek? How would the pollution affect their body? How does the community around Four Mile Creek feel about the current condition of the water? How did the communities of the past feel about the creek? How has the creek been used, enjoyed, or exploited in the past? Has the wildlife changed much during the recorded history of the creek?

I can't think of any humanities questions that would fit with the above questions.
