I plan on testing the health and the life capabilities of Four Mile Creek. By using basic tests, such as chemical amounts and identification of species, I will be able to determine the streams health as well as its capabilities of supporting broad spectrums of life. I will choose different points along the stream to test, and identify each point in relationship to the environment around it. For example, I will test near a factory, off of farm lands, in an area that has not been contaminated by visible human interference and near a heavily traveled roadway. Hopefully through doing this I will be able to get a better understanding of the effects humans have on the natural flow. I also want to research the different develoopmental aspects that the stream has been affected by in the past 100 years. HOpefully, through this I will be incorporating science by testing the waters, social science by choosing places with different human interference, and humanities through studying the rivers past.
