Farming Chemicals....

I think that your project idea is excellent. Although it does seem to be centered around the chamical composition of the creek, and the scientific nature of the creek, it still has the chance to be very interdisciplinary. You could look at what organic farming does for the landscape (vs. non organic farming, which might not be the best for the land.) Crop rotation? What factors might play into the choice of whether or not to use organic farming, what social responsibilities to the people have to answer to vs. what economic responsibilities their vocation places on them. How many options do the surrounding people have? I think it sounds like a very interesting project, and I'm sure that you will be able to incorporate everything you want to. Good Luck!
