I would like to talk to the people who live very close to Four Mile Creek and see if they feel that they have a personal connection with the creek. I think I would also then like to look into whether there are any sacred Indian grounds nearby the area where I interview these people. Then I would like to see if there are any factories/plants nearby that are damaging the water quality or ecological system and see if the people feel that these factories/plants have hurt their relationship with the creek like the people's relationship with the Hudson was hurt by pollution. And finally, I would then like to look back through historical records and see if anyone took action against the factory/plant being put in or damaging the water, and if they did what results that action may have gotten.
I hope to think of more creative methods in the future, but for now my methods will probably consist of interviewing people who live near the creek, doing historical research about nearby Indian sites, factories/plants, and social action, and also doing scientific research on the water quality and ecological health of the area of the creek I study.
