Response to Land Use. . .

I think this topic has a lot of connections to this week's readings. The effects that land use has on rivers and the environment in general ties in nicely to Graff's Damage Control. Run off and deforestation of farmlands absolutely affect the way a river flows. The physical parameters of the river can be changed by the use and abuse of lands near the river or stream. Ornerod's Challenges also would support this view by noting that chemicals introduced would have a broad effect due to the hierarchy of ecosystems involved. The microhabitats are affected immensely by small changes to the larger habitats.
