Shaking the Tree

Hi,

You can do many interesting studies on the biology of the creek. It would be interesting to study those sections of the creek that have been altered the most and then compare those findings with more pristine areas. I wonder if there will be any significant differences (perhaps the entire creek has been disturbed). Four Mile has a series of small dams within the creek (below the main Acton Lake dam). How have these dams altered the biotic communities within the creek?

Are the tributaries, such as Harkers Run, in better shape than Four Mile Creek?

And, don't forget the humanities and social sciences! They need to be included in order to make this an interdisciplinary project.

Best,
Hays
