Spirituals/Rivers

There is a book about spirituals called, Songs of Zion that has some material. In preparation for the class I looked in Bible Concordances for references to rivers, streams, etc. There was a whole lot of material. The coded spiritual is very interesting and full of river metaphors. Do not forget that these projects need to be large enough in concept to include science and social science as well as humanities methods and materials. I think this idea is a good nucleus to work from, but will need some imaginative work to make it fit the framework of the big project. Best wishes. m.
