Human interaction with nature

This topic submitted by Kevin Conway ( kconway27@hotmail.com ) on 1/28/03. [ Rivers Team: Kevin Conway-Section: Cummins/Kaufman]

I propose that a study should be done on the human interaction that has occured on 4 mile creek and the human interaction that is still occuring on the 4 mile creek. I believe that from a chemist's standpoint, the water's can be tested for solutes that are not present normally, such as polutants. Also i feel that studies can be made on the geomorphic properties of the stream using prior research and comparing it to the streem in its present state. The effects of agriculture as well as the people living near the stream could also provide useful information. I feel that we will be able to find that human's play an extremely large role in the shaping of the stream that we see today probably without even knowing it.
