During the canceled seminar time on April 8th our group worked on the following aspects of our Final Rivers Project. First, we all came together to discuss what we need to accomplish between now and when the final paper and presentation are due. We decided that there is still much to do, but if we budget our time we can make everything happen in a timely fashion. We also decided that we would talk to Bill Green on thursday to discuss our findings with the water samples. After our get together we broke off and worked individually on different sections of the project.

I. Bethany, worked at forming a specific outline for the final paper so that we can break it up into sections for different members to write. I also researched to find maps of the area farms, streams, and geography for our presentation. Lastly, I read through more material concerning the history of farming in this area and the history of fourmile creek.

Lauren started editing the footage that we have for the documentary portion of our project. She also emailed Larry Flemmerman, the man who spoke to us about the Three Valley Conservation easement. She wrote him asking about organic farmers in the area and who we might contact in the week.

Katie went to the science center in Boyd and did water testing. She tested for nitrates and sediment load with water samples that we had collected.

Lastly, Libby read over some articles concerning the psychology of organic farming and also the economics of organic farming. After reading for a bit, she ventured out into the cold to collect more water samples to test.

We think that we are on track with our research and testing. Thursday we plan to meet again to discuss our progress. We will break up the writing of the paper and discuss the interviews that we still need to take for our documentary.
